Two pathways.
One measured level.

A learner reading for pleasure and a learner sitting IELTS in eleven weeks want opposite things from the same app. So they get different banks — and the same level meter underneath, so you can switch or run both and the number still means something.

📖 Read for pleasureGraded original fiction, A1 to C2. Every story is a full teaching unit — activate, infer, confirm, retrieve, reuse. Mysteries and thrillers written for adults, in language you can actually hold. 🎯 Academic · pass the examPapers built backwards from the board's own rubric, timing and mark scheme. Every wrong answer is tagged with why you lost it, and the sentence that proves the right answer is highlighted in the passage.

What makes it work

👆
Tap any word A definition pitched at your level, two natural examples, and the translation in your own first language. One more tap files it in your deck with all three.
🎧
Read to me · Shadow A British narrator reads sentence by sentence and lights up each word as it lands. Shadow mode says a line, then waits for you to say it back.
🎙️
Read it aloud, get scored Read a line and every sound is scored against a native model. It names the exact phonemes that slipped — not a vague "good effort".
Your real reading speed Measured only while you are actually reading, banded against your CEFR level, and shown next to comprehension so speed never rewards skimming.
🧠
Skill builders, not advice 521 drills across nine strategy courses. Locate the proving sentence in 45 seconds. Spot the paraphrase. Call TRUE against NOT GIVEN. Timed, marked, repeatable.
🗺️
Street Talk How people really speak, by city. Tap the map for London, Glasgow, Atlanta or New Orleans — with register warnings so you know what is safe to say and to whom.

Six levels, honestly graded

Every story is written to a hard band — words per chapter, average sentence length, and a grammar ceiling. A1 keeps an adult plot and gives you simple language; C2 gives you irony, marked syntax and an unreliable narrator.

You see your own system, not ours. A student in Chengdu sees 高考; a Year 11 in Leeds sees a GCSE grade; both are B2 underneath and both get the same next unit.

The promise

Improve in twelve weeks,
or your money back.

  • Week 0 — a placement test sets your level, speed and comprehension. Locked and timestamped.
  • Weeks 1–11 — three sessions a week at the level the meter says, not the one you fancy.
  • Week 6 and week 12 — the same test on equated forms, so the comparison is real.
  • Improve means one CEFR sub-level, or half an IELTS band, or 25% more reading speed with comprehension held.
  • Applies if you completed 80% of prescribed sessions and sat all three tests.

Placement, equated forms and the completion ledger are in build. Until they ship, the guarantee is not on sale — a promise you cannot measure is not a promise.

Start with one chapter.

Twelve minutes. No account, no card. If you are not curious by the end of it, nothing else here will help.
